THE ESPLANADE AT ALTE MESSE:
A NEW DISTRICT IN THE HEART OF THE CITY
In Munich’s city centre, on the site of Alte Messe (old exhibition grounds), WPG weichinger projekt entwicklung gmbh and Baywobau Bauträger AG have developed the “Esplanade” on Theresienhöhe. Its two seven-storey office buildings complement the municipal area on Ganghoferstrasse.
Clear structural dimensions and high-quality materials dominate the imposing look and feel of these buildings. Contrasting design methods give the structures equal measures of both big city objectivity and elegance. The concept for the buildings’ structure and facilities combines a maximum of flexibility and functionality of use with spacious and attractive interior design. The arrangement of the vertical core access shafts provides for functional usage of up to four rental units per floor.
The residential buildings, which enjoy a view onto Bavariapark, were designed by three internationally renowned architects, and the individual units were sold by Baywobau Bauträger AG as owner-occupied flats. All the residential units were sold before completion.
